5th Asian Conference on Plant-Microbe Symbiosis and Nitrogen Fixation (APMNF2019) was held at the Sakura Hall of Tohoku University from 15th to 17th May.
We’ve met up with professor Xuelu Wang, first time visitor to Sendai who was attending the conference.
“Tohoku University is well known in my field of study and I’m glad I had the chance to come to Sendai and get to know the city since I had no idea what it’s like – It’s a big city but clean and quiet, nice place! Cheaper taxi fares and English speaking drivers could have helped, but I had no trouble in travelling with my students from China.Location and size of Sakura Hall is well suited for this meeting and I’m looking forward to strolling the city afterwards.”
APMNF2019 attracted approximately 150 delegates from around the world.

Professor Xuelu Wang, College of Life Science and Technology, Huazhong Agricultural University, China. During the APMNF2019, he spoke on “A coexpression network of soybean genes reveals the evolution of nodulation in legumes and non-legumes” at the plenary session. He is also the chair of the 30th International Conference on Arabidopsis Research (ICAR2019) to be held (June 16-21, 2019) in Wuhan, China. and the chair of the 21st International Conference on Nitrogen Fixation (ICNF2019) to be held (October 10-15, 2019) in Wuhan, China.
