The Sendai Convention Bureau participated in the online “JNTO Incentive Travel Business Meeting” (India) and the “JNTO International Conference and Incentive Business Meeting” (Singapore) held on November 15 (Tue)-16 (Wed), 2022, and conducted 10 business meetings. The business meetings, organized by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), were a valuable opportunity for direct online business discussions with buyers in Singapore, a leading MICE hub in Asia, and India, an emerging incentive market.
At the business meetings, the Sendai Convention Bureau introduced various attractions and features of Sendai, including its location and accessibility, venue facilities, accommodations, tourist attractions, MICE support and subsidies, sightseeing experiences, and gourmet food. In addition, presentations by JNTO staff on travel trends, tourism statistics, and preferences of each target country deepened the knowledge of participating sellers.
Most buyers expressed interest in Sendai due to its convenient accessibility, compact city size, and mild climate for northern Japan.
The Sendai Convention Bureau will continue to actively conduct promotional activities to convey Sendai’s attractiveness to more buyers and to attract more MICE events.
