ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) has released its statistics for international congresses held in 2022.
The ICCA statistics are based on conferences with 50 or more in-person participants held in three or more countries on a regular rotating basis (excluding bilateral conferences, government conferences, and conferences sponsored by the United Nations).
Japan ranked 12th in the world with 228 conferences, and Sendai ranked 28th in Asia with 9 conferences, and 6th among Japanese cities, tied with Nagoya, after Tokyo, Kyoto, Sapporo, Yokohama, and Kobe.
