The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has released its statistics for international congresses held in 2023.
The ICCA statistics are based on conferences with 50 or more local participants held in three or more countries on a regular rotating basis (excluding bilateral conferences, government conferences, and conferences sponsored by the United Nations).
The number of conferences held in Japan was 363, ranking 7th in the world, and the number of conferences held in Sendai was 15, 6 more than last year, ranking 34th in Asia and 7th among Japanese cities after Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Yokohama, Fukuoka, and Sapporo.
